Snow on the ground

Had a good night's sleep and raring to go. However there is a coating of 2"-3" outside and that might curtail things. Archie is bright and cheerful and we are enjoying being here ... have a few chores to do down the street ... need to see about a SIM card for phone and things like that.

Did a bit of exploring today ... walked over the George Washington bridge and back to check out access for a bicycle. It turned out to be a beautiful day ... bright sun though still a cool air. Tried various places to enquire about a SIM card for the iPhone but not much success. Best that I can manage is prepay with T-mobile who give 2Gb as well as unlimited talk and text ... so I might go with them later. For the time being I'm using an old GSM phone.

Information

The location on the map is automatically updated while my mobile 'phone is switched on, actioned and within an active cell area.

However, to conserve battery charge, the 'phone will usually be switched off.

During the day when I stop off somewhere for a rest or a bite to eat I will probably switch on the 'phone and update my location on 'Google Latitude'. The time status below the map will give an indication of recent activity but will depends on T-Mobile coverage or my ability to get onto the Internet via WiFi. Expect blogs from McDonald's, Starbucks or public libraries!

'Clicking' the Current Location link will give more detailed information in Google Maps. Try using 'Streetview', if it's available, to see the area I'm passing through.
