Day 33

Good night's rest even though I was only 50m away from the noisy interstate. The Rockies look mighty with their veil of snow and the numerous gaps ... but for the time being heading for Broomfield ... about 50 miles away.

My little 'Wendy house' doesn't take up much space out here. I've noticed that the humidity is not nearly as bad as the mid-west states making the high temperatures tolerable ... still, I do wish it would cool down a bit. Have to be careful walking around ... lots of jaggy grasses and mini cacti! Check out this video on YouTube as I approach Denver. Approaching Denver

Got to Mark's place a bit on the early side ... managed to gate crash the communal pool. I'm looking across at the snow topped Rockies and my iPhone cuts out because it is too hot? Guessing the air temperature is above 96F ... ideal for falling in and out of the pool. Best way to cool off.

And this is in the estate. Lovely. Checked the odometer on the bicycle ... 2000.4 miles ... both tyres are in good nick.

Mark preparing a proper meal.

That's the view you get from Mark's house looking west to the Rockies. Tomorrow and Sunday will be two proper rest days. No cycling ... it will give me the opportunity to see some of the sights of downtown Denver, clean up my clothes, do a bit of bike maintenance (front brake blocks need replaced!), have a few good meals (fuel), rest and enjoy Mark's company. The Rocky Mountains will be no pushover ... if you excuse the pun!
