Beautiful, sunny day though it's very chilly. We're well wrapped up and just about to catch the next train from Wakefield down to Grand Central Terminal. Proposing to do walkabouts and see if I can get better advice about US prepaid sim cards for my iPhone.

Then they buy some bling from a street trader. Meanwhile I head down to the big Apple Cube Store and play with some of the toys!




It's buzzing ... have to move on. Still haven't been to a store to checkout my SIM card thing.

Aaargh, this is so frustrating. In the Apple Store the techie guys explain that the best service provider for me is AT&T because they have a GSM 3G system nationwide and have close links to the iPhone4 ... OK, I'll go along with that, so I pop into an AT&T outlet where the assistant tries to explain a convoluted set of prepay options, none of which suits my needs and in any case cost a small fortune.  Must say that I'm not impressed with cell 'phone technology in the US ... we do it so much better in the UK where there's lots of room for improvement!  Give it one more shot tomorrow ... surely it can't be THAT difficult?
