Cycling Across to Glasgow

Up early and left Cushendall around 03:30 ... I had the whole road to myself and got into LARNE before 05:30 ... it starts to get bright about that time. It was overcast and dry but quite cold so it took me some time to warm up. I'm popping over to Glasgow for a few days to see brother Gerard and Aunts P&B ... the bike is fully loaded and the trip to and fro will be excellent training. I'll sleep on the boat for a couple of hours on the passage over to Troon. Bike resting in the warm ferry terminal building at Larne . On the way I popped into Kilmarnock ... it's been years since I was here and wouldn't recognise the place ... all pedestrian precincts and fancy street sculptures. Took a back road from Kilmarnock to Glasgow just to get free of traffic. The route was a bit hilly and it tested me ... passed through Barrhead, so I had the opportunity to visit Dad & Mum's grave ... very peaceful. Downhill all the way to Aunts P&B ... they look good and were asking 'bout everyone ... caught up on the latest family news and saw some pics of Archie. Final run over the river and up to Gerard. The city is looking well and so is Gerard. Cycled 72.4 miles so far today and I'm not finished ... Have to go back to P&B's for 8.00pm ... I'll sleep well tonight.
Location:LARNE Harbour
