Budapest Day 4

Ooops! Wakened late and missed breakfast in the hotel. Not to worry ... feel good and will pick up something later. Our meal last night is still giving sustinance. On the agenda today is a boat trip on the Danube and maybe a walk around Margaret Island.

Lovely day for a trip on the river and the commentary was very informative. We then took a journey on a street tram to the outskirts of Buda ... In stark contrast to the touristy bits of the city centre.

Think we should have validated our tickets but nobody else was doing it so we carried on. We'll get a free trip tomorrow! Inspectors check the tickets on the metro but not too often on the street cars ... or so we're told? Listened in on a street concert in Andrassy Ut before heading back to the hotel for a quiet rest.

Finished off the evening with a meal and a walk over the bridge at Fovan Square. The river looks lovely at night ... all the bridges are lit up and so is the castle and the Liberty Statue ... this will be our last look at night ... it's a wonderful city with a sad and violent history. I like it.
